Description
A must-have of any houseplant collection, the Monstera Deliciosa ‘Swiss Cheese’ leaf is well known around the world with its large fenestrations. This aroid is an epiphyte which means that it prefers to grow like a vine, trellising up walls or on the bark of larger trees. It is a mildly invasive plant from the tropical forests of Southern Mexico. As the plant climbs, it will send down aerial roots which can reach incredible lengths as the plant ages. If the plant is allowed to grow large, the leaves can easily span two to three feet wide. They are very easy to care for. They prefer indirect light, as they grow naturally on the forest floor shaded by tree canopies. They do like to be watered frequently, but don’t get fussy if they go a few days without it. These are great overall houseplants for collectors of all experience levels.
